Introduction

PSA offers FREE GED preparation classes to prepare for the GED test. Classes cover:

♦ Math
♦ Language Arts
♦ Social Studies
♦ Science
♦ Targeted focus on math and writing skills  

Call (530) 885-8585 to make a registration appointment with a counselor.  

If you do not want prep classes and are ready to sign up for GED testing, this is done directly through GED.com. 

How to Enroll in GED® Prep Classes at PSA

You must meet with a PSA counselor to enroll. 

1. Call to make a registration appointment with a PSA counselor.

2. Take classes in person at PSA (3775 Richardson Drive, Auburn)
    Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM beginning August 21, 2023.

3. To take the GED® test visit the GED testing site (ged.com) select a test center, schedule, and pay        for your test. All this is done online by the student at ged.com.

4. Please call our office and ask to speak to a counselor if you have any questions (530) 885-8585


GED Testing

The GED test is a computer-based test, comprised of four subject-specific tests:

Test takers will learn basic computer skills needed for the test in our preparation classes, such as using a pull-down menu, cutting and pasting, highlighting and, dropping text.

Placer School for Adults is an Authorized Pearson VUE Testing Center

The center provides a variety of testing opportunities for adults and allows candidates to register and schedule their tests online or through the Pearson VUE call center.

The GED is also offered in Spanish. Please use the link for more information: GED Testing Services – Spanish.

You will not have time to take all four GED tests on one day – PSA Counselors recommend only taking one or two subtests of the GED per day.
