GED Preparation Classes

PSA  offers free GED classes to help you prepare for the four-part exam. These classes cover a wide range of subjects, including:

How to Enroll in GED® Prep Classes at PSA

You must meet with a PSA counselor to enroll. 

1. Call to make a registration appointment with a PSA counselor.

2. Take classes in person at PSA (3775 Richardson Drive, Auburn)
    Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM beginning August 21, 2023.

3. To take the GED® test visit the GED testing site (ged.com) select a test center, schedule, and pay        for your test. All this is done online by the student at ged.com.

4. Please call our office and ask to speak to a counselor if you have any questions (530) 885-8585


GED Testing

The GED test is a computer-based test, comprised of four subject-specific tests:

Test takers will learn basic computer skills needed for the test in our preparation classes, such as using a pull-down menu, cutting and pasting, highlighting and, dropping text.

Placer School for Adults is an Authorized Pearson VUE Testing Center

The center provides a variety of testing opportunities for adults and allows candidates to register and schedule their tests online or through the Pearson VUE call center.

You will not have time to take all four GED tests on one day – PSA Counselors recommend only taking one or two subtests of the GED per day.

Please note (No fees of any kind may be collected from students for participation in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title II (Public Law 113–128) AEFLA programs.) These programs include English as a Second Language, High School Diploma, GED, and Inmate Education programs.

This class is designed to build or refresh your skills in reading, writing, or math, for life, for the workplace, or for employment-related exams. All levels are welcome.
